For anyone wondering, I am obviously using the boy as the speaker in this poem.

I shyly walk under your umbrella.
Though I’m glad you’re sharing it with me,
I feel as if you wield all the power!
To be your boyfriend is my silent plea.
You are so pretty, and I feel so plain -
not equal to you, for I am instead
just leaning in, for your umbrella
you hold barely well to cover my head.
Oh, pretty girl that I do so adore,
I wish I had the words to tell you this:
I hope one day you’ll smile when you see me,
and in the rain, we’ll share instead a kiss!
