Under Robins Kind Wings
Dedication to a Lost Poet
It is a beaming,summers' Spring.
And you lie in nature's sweet earth,
under robins’ wings.
Beneath fertile Wisconsin ground.
You lost in cancers' last final round!
The rooms empty of your laughter.
That was vibrant and reached the rafters.
I sit here, in utter, somber disbelief
Can't I stop thinking of you...is there
to be no relief?
My very small successes, so minuscule!
Rather hear your laughter, on how I broke
all the rules.
Or see your angelic, blond hair aglow in the sun.
Dancing, skating, playing house, having Chicago’s,
little girls' fun.
We lost so very much as we aged!
God came to take you home He turned that final
life's page.
You, who put others before herself
Became a member of Poetry Soup to
support me and express herself.
Au Revior, Sweet Cousin Madelyn!
