        on edge all my life 
        easily toppled over 
         rue this day today 
 my ribs are blown wide open 
     and butterflies fly away

Deeply moving poem David....the imagery is stunningly original and arrests the mind. Last two lines are indeed inspired. A fine example of how much can be packed into so few lines by a skilled practitioner.

Thank you Paul, I do have a natural propensity towards brevity in verse, but only when it speaks to me, (yeah that’s enough) I’m delighted you see the uncontested sentiment in this one, cheers David
