Unconditional

Welcome to the waiting room Where lovers sit in the midst of monsoon A overflowing of reality hits like boom Work to become a wife or a groom We only want the tangible stuff Tangerine kisses and turquoise touch What about the harder unseen things Like broken hearts death illness and extremes Like would you wipe my but if I was dying Would I do for you the same not denying That we have hopes and aspirations of But are we really ready for unconditional love

An apt topic Karen on unconditional love. Unconditional love could be and should be in any walk in love. I love your second verse and ofcourse the last verse - I guess if we gave up our fears and conditioned suspicions and take people for what they are, we could then be free to give love unconditionally - Thank you for commenting on my Ballard, they don't post the video on the POTD page, so by clicking on my page the video is there. I trust you will enjoy it as you did with lyrics. Hugs Maria

A great poem Karen. Unconditional love is often talked about. How many people find it? How many find it then "butt" out? Take care.

I do not think any human is capable of completely unconditional love, but some have come very very close. Nice one, Karen, and thanks for the placement in your contest.

Andrea I appreciate your participation and your comment I think you have a point. It seems to me it will never be even so to speak.

The butt reference is covered in the clause: ~ "in sickness and in health". It is, therefore, a contractual obligation. Not all moonbeams and kittens huh?

These thoughts often come to my mind. I've cared for an Ill spouse. He would not have been patient enough to go that extra mile. Some people are stronger than others.

Love is romantic at the beginning. But as we enter a relationship, hard times, illness and many trials may hit us. In all such depressing situations, are we ready to love unconditionally is the question. It is the touchstone of true love. Great thoughts, Karen.

Good poem Karen, it makes me think of how marriage can start as a fantasy and become a much different reality.
