Uncommon Man

Uncommon Man hard hat lunch bucket high steel walker at home where eagles soar. mole, in pits and holes deep, dark cracking stone labyrinth’s glitter. salt stained, rocking seas tread her whims for silver glint glimmer. nine to five, three shift two shift blue denim Atlas balances the World. vilified, patronized then dehumanized into work units commerce engine used up, spat out but they abide.

Really like the sentiment expressed here, Patricia. I suppose you could make a comparison with the "Thin Blue Line". This small bunch of, seemingly, ordinary men (and some very staunch woman) who do dangerous and arduous jobs: trawler men, miners, skyscraper builders. All brave, brave people! Good little write -- a fitting tribute! Hope you are happy this Autumn morning...but just in case you are feeling a little down I am sending you over a warm hug from "Dear Old Blighty". Your friend. :) john

How did you know I would need a hug this morning. Greatly appreciated. My Uncle Pat lived in London until he retired to a small village in country. After the war he married his sweetheart and stayed, My granny Kate came from Elbow Corners near London though iy is part of London now. Big bear hug right back.

Excellent pen Patricia. Love "blue denim Atlas balances the world" powerful image there. My partner was a performer, danced around the world, including Cirque, now he's happily working on a swing stage :)

My Dad was a labourer and I learned early about the type of man who work in these jobs. Thanks for reading and understanding.
