Unbreakable Bound

Unbreakable Bound The heart it is breaking how I feel this- unbreakable bound The tiny room where Napoleon yielded his life and honor- Far behind the purple curtain as tourists gawk And pale tidings rub the gambit of hero's death As the field asked who, who won midnight's hour struck Time smiled and said no more, no more sun has died And you and I crouched so low ask ounce of shade. A pound of flesh with no remorse hangman's true delight The heart it is breaking how I feel this- unbreakable bound. Robert J. Lindley, April 22nd 1972 Note: One look and Heaven gave its answer. Walk in the light and ask no more.

Back then, times were different. Back then, some writers and poets, at such a tender, inexperienced age, had the ability to feel things and align keenly with the despair of others from other noble and ignoble eras, more notable and maligned, than their peers. Not so, the youth now. This is how formidable poetry is borne.

Thank you, my very good friend. So true as you say, times were very different back then. Times were more innocent for many. I was only 18 then and I had not yet faced the evil world and its many hardships. God bless.

Dear Robert, strong emotions are portrayed through the vitality of your imagery. Stunning poetry from one so young! But I'm not surprised seeing as this flowed from your golden pen. A grand expressive piece my friend. Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

Thank you, my very good friend. I was young and emotional back then. Life seemed to have taken a nasty turn in a relationship. I was accused of cheating when I had not done so. Our relation could not survive that lie. God bless.

Thank you, my friend. I was only 18 years old and still in senior high when I composed this one. Iwas composing a lot that year. Most of those poems were in the big batch that was stolen and burned 2 years later. God bless.
