Un Crime a Minuit

I
                                              awakend
                                        in the dead of night
                                    passionate desires nibbled
                                hunger and thirst, consumed me
A Mayan princess was of no use to me now
I, who was king, became a slave to my lustful desires
Gargoyles and the devils helpers would fall at my feet, in death
yes in triumph I marched forth, eyes aglow, at the pastries I would devour

Note: The Title in English means "A Crime at Midnight" yes since childhood I am guilty of this crime!!!

Arthur, I really had no idea where this was going as the suspense built quickly and intensified. Then, upon learning of your crime, I wanted to reach for something sweet. We are both guilty of the same crime, but few are innocent enough to prosecute us. Smiles Carolyn

I have resisted this particular crime rather well. I am more blatant, doing it in the light of DAY. hahaha

Nice poem; I'm glad that you explain. I thought it meant - a crime a minute, but than that could happen too. Thanks for sharing.... Lucilla

This is a common problem. One must pull oneself away from the refrigerator at times! Well constructed with an interesting shape! Peace & Blessings Matthew Anish

Thanks Tim, as a child I used to go kitchen in the morning, with face smudged in chocolate, saying "Me? ate cake last night? noooo was not me "
