Spare a thought this Christmas for those suffering in Ukraine While you are enjoying the festive season Russia inflicts more pain Huddled around makeshift fires with no where to escape the chill The evil Russians fire missiles and drones that are designed to kill. Russia hopes by taking out their power grid that they will give in But its made them more determined not to yield to Vlad Putin They're melting snow for water it's what they're having to do And if we didn't live in a civilised world it could easily be me or you. Women and girls are sexually assaulted at the point of a gun Their families are forced to watch while these dogs have their fun Another report a girl watched her friend raped and shot in the head They didn't want any witnesses and made sure that she was dead. Mass graves have been discovered with bodies tied and bound With many showing signs of torture investigators have found Russia claims only military targets have been hit but of course its lies Anything that comes out of Putins mouth should come as no surprise. Iran is supplying Putin with missiles and other cheap hardware Putins rants about nuclear weapons I don't think he would dare The axis of evil has now changed its now Nth Korea, Russia and Iran They're all a bunch of cowards and they'd never fight man to man. The Patriot missile system Ukraine needs and I urge the US to supply Because if they don't Russian bombers will fly and many more will die The war has already escalated because weapons we are supplying And only by doing so will it prevent the death toll in Ukraine from rising. Written on 13th December 2022 I have supported Ukraine since February by writing poems about what is happening there and trying to bring to light atrocities that have been committed by the Russian army against the Ukrainian people and have at no time written anything negative about some brave Russian people who opposed Putin and many who have been imprisoned for making a stand.

I’ve read another of your Ukraine poems & written at least 2 myself. I’ve spoken out on FB too. Russian evil has tried to annilate Ukraine before. The Ukraine not only fighting for themselves but for world’s concepts of Freedom, Liberty! All along I’ve been sure our SEALS are undercover there & agree about the middles. God IS for them; no doubt it is part of cosmic war Good vsEvil. An excellent, necessary poem. Pray for weasel McConnel & cronies to keep on the side of Good!

Thank you very much Sally, like most people I was shocked when that physchopath invaded a peaceful nation who were no threat to Russia. I know there's help going on behind the scenes helping Ukraine. If that murderer isn't stopped it will send a signal to other despots that they can get away with it. You're right it is good versus evil. Tom

Well said Tom, the devastation of Putin’s war is outrageously evil, what they have done to the Ukraine people is wickedly horrific. One has to admire those that are fighting back when the country is under attack. I am keeping those suffering in heart and prayers… Belle

Thank you very much Anaya, the Russians are an undisciplined bunch of marauding dogs and have committed unspeakable horrors on innocent people. I had to stop reading about some of the things that they have inflicted on those poor people. I pray for them often and will continue to call Putin out. Tom

Tom, nobody has done more than you to ring the bell for freedom in Ukraine with your sagas, updates, and missives against the monster Putin. Thank you for keeping this thread alive and raising awareness for the plight of this beleaguered nation, especially as Christmas approaches along with harsh winter conditions. Thank you very much John, I hate injustice of any kind and this is a great injustice against a peaceful nation. Putins dream of expanding the iron curtain will fail I'm sure of that. The Ukrainian people are living In hellish conditions. I hope The Biden administration sends the patriot systems so they can stop those deadly missiles striking power stations. Victory to Ukraine. When the whole world is celebrating Christmas, this thought for the Ukrainians exposed to the ravages of winter and the cruelties of the Russians is so appropriate. Thanks so much Tom for not letting up on your attack on this psychopath/criminal! My Ukrainian friends whom I have not been able to communicate with for a while must be in such a dire situation, because they can't go home, or have their family exit the country, so this feeling of heavy frustration of not knowing is awful. Positive thoughts that this war ends in the near future...ab

Thank you very much Anselmo, I can't imagine the horrors those brave Ukrainian people are going through all because of one deluded physchopath who thinks he can do what he likes. The west needs to put more pressure on that evil regime and send more state of the art weapons to those brave Ukrainian soldiers so they can push that scum back from where they came from. Great writing Tom, another billion euros promised today to help Ukraine through the winter, and they will get trough it, Putin is completely isolated on the world stage, only his sycophants Iran, and N Korea, kiss his sorry ass, appeasement was once tried with Hitler, we all know how that one turned out, this is where the west will make a stand, keep him bogged down, his house of cards will implode eventually, but this will be everybody’s war soon, if we pander to his demands, cheers David

Thank you very much David, Putin has certainly met his match, happy to see a missile strike on the Wagner group another bunch of scum, they won't be missed that's for sure. Heartwarming to see Belarusians and Chechens fighting with Ukraine against a common enemy, Ukraine must succeed as it will send a clear message to Nth Korea, China and Iran. US needs to send patriot missile system sharpish, never mind discussing it, time is of the essence. Tom

tom - i applaud you for all of the poetry you have posted about the war in ukraine and reminding us of how others are suffering. it is such an unbearable situation there and i wish i could see a happy ending in the near future, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

Thank you very much Ilene, You're right, while Putin is still alive he'll keep on going with no cares about the deaths and suffering his botched invasion is causing. Shame some moan that price's are going up but it's only one man that has caused it. I'd rather freeze to death rather than pay for his gas that pays for his botched invasion. Tom

Yes, spare a thought for those who are suffering - fighting for their lives and country ... while we sit in our warm living room, with a shining star at the top of the Christmas tree ... with food that we can't bear to eat because our stomachs are full ... when we open gifts bought on credit and cost a fortune ... I don't want to "stifle" the Christmas spirit ... but, spare a thought for the people of Ukraine - Many thanks, Tom...this touches our hearts - hugs

You speak from the heart on this topic, Tom--and you speak for many who share your sentiments. Ukraine is standing tall despite the atrocities of war --enduring hardships and the world needs to show support as many western countries and others have. Sadly, no end in sight. I follow the war very closely from the first day and have written poems from the day that the war was declared. What you write here is absolutely true. I have read all your poems that you have written on the subject. I have found all of them extremely wonderful. I congratulate you for committing yourself to condemn Putin and Russia for their atrocious crimes. God bless you for fighting evil.

Dear Tom, We've both written about the atrocities Putin's evil mind has caused. Can you imagine Putin or Kim in hand to hand combat? No, one would waddle away, no matter how much weight he's lost. The other one would poop his pants if he met a Ukrainian face to face... oh wait... he's already done that. In reading your bottom note, I've never wished harm on any Russian citizen either. They carry the burden of a 'leader' gone mad, and risk prison if they protest. People of both countries suffer.
