Ahhh thanks for clearing that up! I assumed that was the case, but at the same time it seemed a bit morbid, perhaps my brain blocked it out... lol.

Oooh I quite like this. Especially that moose looking into the window. Gives me a humble feeling - knowing that whether or not Man is there things still happen. With your first Haiku, I admit, I'm slightly lost - Is there wordplay going on in Line 3? Does he get the point of icicle or the point of what's going on, in the figurative sense?

The cracking icicle lands on the poor unsuspecting bird.

Love 'em both. Very different pieces obviously, no birds hurt in writing this poetry I hope.

You have penned perfect snapshots. I especially love the last one, such a peaceful scene. I have had a bear try to get in my door, but never a moose looking in the window.

hahaha, I love that "small bird gets the point!!" FOr me, unusual imagery is so hard to do, but to use a play on words. I take great delight in doing it and reading it! the second one is a a great little picture of that moose and frozen lake.

I like them, Richard. You did really well on this form. Not an easy form, if you ask me. Great work!
