“hors d'oeuvres” whatever "or dervs" now it's two syllables, ha ha ha! I just did a Iambic Pentameter, I've been counting all day. Done with all that it's free verse time. You've always been good at Footles, I recall your "Sewing" Footle.

Ha! Don't force it, just get a bigger hammer! Many thanks for your kind words BFF! One, two, three. One, two, three. Time for another footle. See ya!

oh if this is for Brian, I bet he will like it. I sure do (hmm, I pronounce that one word as two syllables. I had no idea of another way to say it)

Everyone I know pronounces it with two syllables. I found a couple of dictionary sites that say two syllables, but the majority say four (including PS and HMS). Four syllables would sound weird LOL. Coming the top footler, you, I appreciate your comment! :)

In my book, Linda, 'hors d'ouvres' has two syllables and will always have two. :) You've conjured up a warm, romantic atmosphere with your words here. Lovely work! Cheers - Gary

Hi Gary. I agree with you. if I try to say it in 4 syllables, I feel like the Texan with the southern drawl LOL. Say it fast, and it's two syllables. Many thanks for your visit and confirmation LOL. I appreciate your comments, Linda :)
