TWILIGHT

A glowing Osprey swept across the fiery pond slightly teasing its surface, mosquitoes tumbling in its wake tempting the trout. An awakening cool mist lays a shrouded silence upon the shoreline. As night’s minions slowly assert their claim the gently humming bushes sing. Ah, twilight, delightful dilettante, reciting your ever-changing vespers, whispering to the kiss of darkness.
nature’s lullaby whispered to a fading day dark wings awaken

You set the scene perfectly, allowing your readers to see and hear the transition from twilight to darkness.

I spent many weekends in my younger years at a fishing camp. There's a moment when dark gives way to light. In that moment, owls stop hooting, mosquitos stop buzzing and a whole world of day creatures make their presence known.

Lin, I was always intrigued by what an old fisherman called "false dawn"...that moment when ... well.... when you just stand there in awe and exhale....Glad you enjoyed it.

I can see and feel this. I remember watching trout leap from a lake to catch flies at the end of a day camping when I was a kid.

thanks for stopping by David, ... and when they got flies to dine on they aren't interested in any "lures" we had in the box.
