Twenty Year-Old Self

Dear twenty year-old self, You are probably exhausted right now, From all the physical and mental problems, Having to live up to expectations, While having to tolerate mankind. You are probably hurt right now. Over the boy whom you only watch from afar, Never looking your way, Never even had the intention. You are probably down right now, Looking at the lovers with a bitter smile, Questioning why your life isn’t that way. Someday, someone will be there, Not now, not tomorrow, But someday, when love is ready for you. You are probably empty right now. Laughter and sounds surrounds you, but loneliness still lingers. Fighting with the feelings behind closed walls, Only portraying to the world your bitter smile, For it is way better than explaining. I know you are having a hard time right now. You are fighting with your own feelings. You are smiling because you are tired of questions. You are barely surviving. But I promise you my dear, Five years from now, You’ll be the matured, strong, independent woman, Who stands on her two feet, With a majestic grin, Because you are no more the twenty years old vulnerable girl, Who thought she will not make it today.
