Twenty Words

Though contests may pique you,
Judges critique you.
Challenges push you;
Naysayers shush you.
Rhythms confine you;
Poems define you.

Nice use of twenty words. By the way, that poem I wrote about the $25,000 dessert is a few years old. I don't believe that restaurant is currently closed, but it was for a short time when I wrote the poem.

Interesting write, Ilene! Certainly thought provoking...I never thought about my poems defining me and how much influence others have on our writing. I'm glad I read this tonight. Blessings, Rhonda
