Twenty-Four Seven
We are in a war 24-seven
A great spiritual controversy
Originally begun in heaven
Any war on earth equates nimbly
This war is invisible
To us dwelling on earth
This war between good and evil
Calls for Christians’ rebirth
We are soldiers requiring armor
The full armor of God employed
Found in the Holy Scriptures
Least we’re all here destroyed
“Greater is He that is in you
Than he that’s in the world”
These words give us hope
When Satan’s rockets are hurled
This war is intensifying
As we live out our daily lives
Satan’s ramping up his measures
Least any of us survive
Christ is his adversary
For jealousy is the key
To this spiritual warfare
That involves you and me
This war is for the souls
Created by our Lord
To shine forth His glory
Something for Satan to create discord
He’d have us held in death’s clutches
If he could have his say
Having been caste out of heaven
This war of revenge is his play
God’s powers are greater
Than this once shining star
God’s victory soon to be relished
Satan an earthly memoir
We need the full armor of God
24-seven held in this battle
Need God to fight this war for us
For the enemy is most brutal.
