'Twas pt 2

Because our Chosen One is really still vaunted
By all those that still count the votes in the House.
And the rest will still all keep quiet as a mouse."

Meanwhile a cauldron of witch's brew bubbling
On the hearth where the former assistant was troubling.
Her sentence was threatening to cause a big fuss.
"It's OK, we'll just load her up on the bus
That goes from one lock-up here over there
To another one where she can stay without care
In that state that holds me in most high esteem,
Where she will surely have only sweet dreams.
We'll move that old pot to the back burner so
It won't be making waves that might overflow."

Then another witch started raising her voice.
"Release all the files," she said, making her choice
To challenge decisions, revisions, and thunder.
And threaten to interrupt the flow of the plunder.
"Nay," said the King. "This shall not be
The undoing of what's surely meant just to be
The way of the world. It was always just so.
Those who hold the gold make the rules. Don't you know?
Not five finger discounts I've used since my prime.
There's only one finger I'm using this time.
And it's served me quite well since I first held the spoon
That I dipped in the well of what fell from the moon
Right into my pocket. No cock-up will cause
Disturbance or turbulence with Mr. Claus.
Cause I've always been on the list.
Not that one, the one held in his closed fist.
That one will only see bright light of day
When we have all long been beneath the cold clay."

Meanwhile inflation held stubbornly firm
And suddenly affordability became the term
The Man and his Divisors said, "This will abate.
We'll treat it like always saying, 'You're doing great!
How dare you question the grandest grand plan!'
Hype and hysteria will work like before.
And if they complain, we'll just give them more.

We'll send the Marines or at least the Old guard.
We'll park them in parlors, Home Depot's, and yards.
Distraction in action that's my modus o.
Anyone in the way, well, they'll just have to go.
Whether they've been elected, detected, or chosen.
Get out of my way or I'll have your funds frozen!

Cuz you know who really holds the strings of the purse.
If you try to contest it will only get worse.
Cuz the strings of the purse are tied up in Fort Knox,
Fort Hood, or Ford Ord and I'll change all the locks.
If you stand in the way, where I choose to make hay,
I'll take them away and I promise you'll pay.
