Turmoil and Pain

You’re always in my thoughts Jitterbug, Your memory will never fade. We had so many great times together. Fond memories that we made. Remember when we went camping in the van, And you referred to me as a mung bean? Or the time the air mattress got a hole in it, It was the funniest things we’d ever seen. Remember the times we would go driving, Along the Great Ocean Road? Music up fall blast of course, In our spaceship van that glowed. Or when you took me to Mt Buller, To see snow for the very first time. You taking me to Sydney and Melbourne, Was the trip of my lifetime. I reflect on our conversations had on the balcony, As I look over at your vacant chair. Away but never forgotten, You’ve been taken from us, unthinkable to bare. I hope you’ve found peace you were searching for, And no longer suffering pain and anguish. It now been passed on through our hearts, One desperate grief cures another’s languish. I can never truly say goodbye to you, It’s not within my scope of choice. I’ll now only see you in my dreams, Never again will I hear your melodic voice. No more drives to the end of an unknown road, Time cannot be backward turning. You’re an Earth-treading star that makes dark heaven light, We will make sure your flame is always burning.
