Good point. I wasn't trying to argue with you at all, just offering an opinion but I didn't take it that far and yes, if ISIS asked me the location of my best friend so they could kill them I would definitely lie.

My dearest friend, it is true what you say but we have to differentiate between Truth as such and telling the truth! Here I am referring to The truth as such! Thank you for your visit and lovely comment!

My friend, Chris, when I say the truth shines I mean that truth as such remains unaltered regardless Man's opinion! Now as far as truth is always the best course of action is true but not always! Socrates and Kant would say that if a greater good may come out of a lie for the people then we could adapt it, i.e. ISIS comes and ask you to tell them where your best friend is for to kill him and you know that by not telling the truth you will save his life, will you tell them the truth?

The uk is also election mode and there is truth and sadly 'politician speak' which in the end prove to be lies. Let's hope for more nuggets of golden truth in the world Demetrios :-) hugs Jan xx

I am talking about the nature of truth my friend, Jan, not the use of it by people! As Aristotle says: "To say what it is that it is and what it is not that it is not, is true, whether to say what it is not that it is and something that it is that it is not, is false!"
