Truth Be Told

Truth be told I will continue listening to you To your words and sentences and each "logical" view I submit my time, my sanity and sometimes my opinion To make sure you come back and talk to me again When days are dark, they say, friends are few But what about the friends that do not hold true The ones that come watching the car you drive Or the name on the shoes that your son has I recall a time when nothing like this mattered When friends I had because of my childish natters When my humour was regarded as an astute tool And my laughter was part of a daily rule Now I say truth be told I hold any smile to heart For my days of purity and true friendship has departed

i think this is a great write on how people, particularly teenagers and younger- but not just them, have developed over the years, and not for the better
