Trumpets Sound

Pieces of heaven littered the ground
A fallen angel cast down to earth
At the throne of God trumpets sound

On our planet this was evil's birth
Lucifer thinks he will rule one day
A fallen angel cast down to earth

With free will we can go his way
Temptation is a powerful thing
Lucifer thinks he will rule one day

When a man resists the angels sing
God offers salvation to all who ask
Temptation is a powerful thing

There is true light in which we can bask
Darkness one day will yield to God's might
God offers salvation to all who ask

We are meant to be Citizens of light
Darkness one day will yield to God's might
Heavenly city descends to the ground
At the throne of God trumpets sound

Be sure to fix "Citizens". :) That said, a wonderful reality check for those who truly believe. You're always a refreshing poet to read.

Loved it ! My kind of poem and exactly my sentiments. Lucifer has already lost his battle but tries so hard to claim the souls of this fallen world-- a spiritual battle we fight-- not one of blood and flesh. One of the earlier poems I posted was called "The Greatest Battle Ever Fought"-- same theme :)
