True Friendship Is Priceless

If you need a shoulder to cry on a true friend will be there Stands with you through life’s storms not just when it is fair A friend who’s honest and truthful and would never lie to you Who gives unconditional support in everything that you do They treat you with respect and never get in your face Understand your needs when you want your own space A most important quality that a true friend would need Is total loyalty and that makes them a true friend indeed. There’s a friendly island lady who is considered a queen Of a certain form of poetry I think you know who I mean She made me feel very welcome when I joined poetry soup She is a very multi-talented poetess in this poetry group. Written on 15th June 2018. For qualities you admire in friends poetry contest sponsored by Carolyn Devonshire and Jack Horne.

True friends are the greatest possession in anyone's life.... a friend who stays with us through thick and thin, not a fair weather friend who will desert us in times of need. A beautiful tribute to friendship and a dear friend.

What a wonderful list of qualities you've used to describe a 'true' friend, Tom. All too often that word is used in a shallow connotation, but it takes time to build a strong bond. Now let me think about this poetess you mention. Could it be.....? Oh why yes it is!! She's my bestest buddy in soupdom.

Thanks Lin, we all have the ten a penny fair-weather friends but it takes some unexpected crisis in your life for true friends to shine through. Haha you twigged who it was then. Although we've never met I feel like I've known her for years.Enjoy the weekend .Tom
