Tribute To Harry Horsman

Written: June 26, 2026, for a contest sponsored by Constance La France Poetry Quote:"‘I am your friend, at this hour you needed me, here is my hand, I hold out to you With my undying friendship, I offer you sanctuary.’" By Harry Horsman The moonlight darkens, silver stain. “Nature’s Worst” is around the rain. Mist remembers your “Thwarted” breath. Gentle melodies of love and death. The blue sky of “Woopa Bank” makes you sing. Grey haze curls and clings to the wing. Passion is thinning. But it did not die. Your words still drift up in the sky. Wild gusts blew, and the canvas ripped. “Season’s End” left souls stripped. But in the storm, I heard your voice. A truth pulse through anguish choice. You predicted the century's snare, "Century-Twenty Two", the world never cares. And yet, your lines resisted decay. They lit the dark, they warned the way. "Living To Die" in the "Cemetery" near, Could not silence what we hear. Your scrolls of praise, your final tone, Allow us to feel less alone. "Harry Horsman", poet, heart of mist, Your "Metamorphosis" requiem persists.

- Harry, was a dear friend to many of us ... I loved his poems ... he was my first choice when I read this contest ... but, wanted to mention my friend Dan who died far too young ... not many knew him, but someone who really deserves to be mentioned - A beautiful tribute, Las :) - When I read your entry I'm a little unsure if I've solved the contest correctly - Basically it doesn't matter ... I'm glad I wrote it - Best wishes in the contest :) - hugs

Wow. I am so glad you decided to honor Harry. He is one of the five Constance mentioned that I would want to pay tribute to. He was so dear. Thanks for doing this

I appreciate your remembrance of Harry. I did not know him, but I think Bill did. Nicely penned, dear Sotto.

I had wondered what happened to so many who were on here and I guess the same thing happened to some of the others during COVID. Sad. Thank you, Lasaad, for sharing this remembrance of him. This one reads like a good contender to me for the contest. Way to go. Sara K.

Hi Lassard….a beautiful dedication to a lovely man and wonderful poet. I felt an instant connection with Harry from when l first joined P.S as he didn't live very far from me here in Perth. I wish l had known him longer. You did him proud Lassard! Debx
