Tranquility and Peace
I wake (or did I ?)
to a gentle breeze from an open window
and all is peace this morning in my world
except for the singing birds
I stretch and snuggle for a few more winks
then, sighing . . .
I get up and wash
and put on my favorite tattered jeans
to go for a walk to town . . .
the sky is pastel blue
as I leave my heritage building
and crossing the street
I pass a grey stoned church
at the corner store
I buy a newspaper . . .
soon, I am sipping sweet coffee
and munching an apple fritter
then, I walk to the library
where I get lost in the thousands of books
for hours it seems and
picking several to take home
I make my backpack too full
as a breezy wind blows me
down the street . . .
past the grey stoned church
and to the door of my heritage home_
