Tranquility
The island is peaceful, quiet and still.
Settling back into a familiar routine.
Sounds soften, no longer shrill.
Once again, a picturesque scene.
Tranquility, has found a home here.
in this sleepy, little seaside town.
But sadly, there is the fear,
that chaos could tear it down.
Times of unrest, find a way in.
No locked doors, can keep it away.
It must end before it can begin,
or there's an endless price to pay.
The world has become an angry place.
Situations become out of control.
Losing what we cannot replace.
An upheaval, taking its toll.
Hatred, a shadowy figure in the night,
an apparition like that in a dream.
Silently taking hold by morning light,
dimming the rays of a sunlight beam.
Each generation, has troubled times,
thankfully the end result was peace.
But, over the years, there are signs,
that for those to come, it will cease.
It is everything, to live a life that's free.
What of freedom, if we throw peace away?
Think of how tranquil, a little town can be.
The joy of seeing innocent children at play
