Tragic Tale

Oh, to read the tragic tale...

Whether it be Scarlet Letter or Cursed Whale

Blithely do the words encompass the mind

Lifting the haze of their mysterious veil.

Whether it be Scarlet Letter or Cursed Whale

   Can humor ever compare ?

Lifting the haze of their mysterious veil

Nary one ever written could depths pursue

   Can humor ever compare ?

Blithely do the words encompass the mind

Nary one ever written could depths pursue

Oh, to read the tragic tale...

I love how you include that repeating line, Can humor ever compare. IT made it very readable. Great flow in this winning poem. LUv, Andrea

I've always preferred drama to comedy, especially great stories like Moby Dick or the Scarlett Letter. Wonderful poem! Congratulations on your well-deserved win! Love, Carolyn
