Traces of Love

"How sweet to the heart are the scenes of my childhood" Samuel Woodworth, 1785-1842 Sweet childhood photographs-tattered and gray! Yet warm and vibrant like the kiss of sun; on my cheeks as I walk along the bay. I smile reminiscing of days bygone~ of lullabies that grandma used to sing, on midday naps after hide-and-seek fun. The giggles with my cousins on the swing, simply believing we could reach the sky~ I sketched those moments in my heart to cling. Still fresh the joy at play with pets nearby, Oh, the paper boats that held my dream line; The launch of first kite made me soared up high. Fragments of memories cling like a vine; My diamond days that never cease to shine. ____________________________ 11.12.2020 Rhyming verified on RhymeZone Syllables verified on HowManySyllables Grammar and Spelling verified on PS Grammar Checker For Constance La France' Terza Rima Form Poetry Contest 2nd place Entered for A Briand Strand Formal Poetry Contest 1st place

J, your poetry arouses so many pleasant memories of childhood and feeling free: kites, swings, pets, paper boats, the feel of sunshine. Those were indeed 'diamond days' and they shine, even if the pictures are tattered and gray. Well done, I love your writing ~ John
