Traces of Love
"How sweet to the heart are the scenes of my childhood"
Samuel Woodworth, 1785-1842
Sweet childhood photographs-tattered and gray!
Yet warm and vibrant like the kiss of sun;
on my cheeks as I walk along the bay.
I smile reminiscing of days bygone~
of lullabies that grandma used to sing,
on midday naps after hide-and-seek fun.
The giggles with my cousins on the swing,
simply believing we could reach the sky~
I sketched those moments in my heart to cling.
Still fresh the joy at play with pets nearby,
Oh, the paper boats that held my dream line;
The launch of first kite made me soared up high.
Fragments of memories cling like a vine;
My diamond days that never cease to shine.
