Too Late For Regrets..

Time stopped, just for a moment
lovers crossed the inevitable line of ecstasy
indulging in ones fantasies
giving into the yearning desire, that burned so deep
basking in each others flowing rivers, turning the fresh lit
spark into an never ending blaze
no thoughts, no fears, no worries
suddenly, lightning strikes, the earth moved

and Time resumes

A cold front swept across the room
bringing forth an unwanted chill
not a word is spoken, their eyes never meet
for feeling of guilt and regret will be forever painted
on their faces
when the door opens, all innocence leaves
as the heart of the seed left behind bleeds
and a conscience returns holding one bound in solitude
wishing that time could rewind......

Tyesha - First let me congratulate your brother - The first step is always the hardest - May God walk with him through his struggles - Excellent expression in this poem - I absolutely loved the ending of this poem the word choice was excellent - The title says it all - Sorry I haven't stopped by for awhile my life is rather hectic these days - God Bless you and those who share your heart, MJ

Going through a scenario such as the one described here myself, I am really touched that someone else has perhaps gone through such a time or at least knows how to put it into words. Thank you for commenting on my "Last Poem" and encouraging me that there's still hope. In a world that's constantly spinning, the only thing you should give up on is regretting what you can't change, even if it is painful losing your innocence.

It is sad that it can be that way after the fact. It takes something from the beauty of the experience and turns it to pain making us want to change what cannot be changed. This write so clearly reflects those feelings. Well said, Tyesha! Love, Robn
