one day you'll look for me to make amends the weight of what you've done too much to bear one day you'll ask for grace for what offends You'll search for me but I will not be there You'll come to me with heart and words exposed a plea to start afresh and be at peace You'll come with promise new that you've composed and hope that guilty heart will find release One day you'll come to know that you were wrong and with the thought will come the awful pain for you have robbed of me my inner song and brought to me a grief I can't contain One day, I know that this will come to be too late will be that time for you and me

I really agree with what you wrote to Don. I also feel forgiveness is a gift God provides us for our own heart becomes unburdened in the process of forgiving another. I enjoyed your thought provoking piece Eileen.

Sometimes it is too late to say sorry to those who are special to us.We can steal their inner song and this is only we cant find ways to say sorry.What a beauty this is Eileen,Its deep ,sad and powerful.

Hello dear friend, a very well written sonnet, I feel the words you have penned and I am made sad. Your world is very absolute when hurt and pain are introduced into it. Possibly I am just foolish or naive but I know pain and I know dispair and I know love. Yet once I love it is for eternity my heart nwill not relinquish one iota of its joy in that love no mater where it has led me. That is my tragedy and perhaps my strength a paradox exists in my soul. Hello, Shane...though love can continue, it does not have to bear with hurt. We must train the heart....to obey. :) I know it is hard, but it can be done. I'm learning to close off chambers of my heart to people who have brought me pain. I don't need any extra pain. I have my share. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter. Blessings....

Actions do have consequences . . . when those actions betray trust and words and actions become abusive . . . yes, too late is correct . . . forgiveness does not dictate taking one back . . . another signature write LO. top rated.

Auntie will have to think on this one. I was going to write that for some things....too late is too late; however, time will tell.

Thank you, Don. Forgiveness does not equate trust...or does it condone being in a relationship that is harmful. Forgiveness should be offered whether or not it is asked for. It is the test of true Christianity. Then again...we remember the saying, "To err is human, to forgive divine." To be able to forgive someone who has wrong you unnecessarily and given you pain....is something that is humanly impossible....Only God can make it possible. Thanks for the visit.
