Tonight the Sky Wants a Poem

Tonight the stars shine in a way that is devastating Because they are the cursor blinking steady on my screen The inky background the cursed shine lays upon Steals the very words from my fingertips This act of thievery expands full throttle Searching Down Down Down I choke on a vine of thorns trailing my vocal chords As I feel my words vanish from my throat My tongue is still tangled from the last robbery When the vibrations fell flat off the percussion in my ear I don't think my thief realises it was an offering for them I hope the Universe deems this a good offering And I hope the Sky does not target your brilliance next

That title brought me here! Such a beautiful and deep write. This can also be about those plagiarists too stealing one’s words, ive been through many times and have written about that too. I really love the depth of this and how you’ve delivered it

Thank you so much for the kind words! I hadn't thought about the perspective of plagiarism, but you are definitely right about the similar thievery. I'll have to check out some of your poems too!

I'm all distracted wondering what type of computer you are writing on that has a black background - feels old school, perhaps you turned the screen off at that point? Perhaps you need anti glare equipment? Are these earthly ponderings to a celestial problem - indeed they are... I like your take on the torment of the muse - different and interesting, I enjoyed it :)

Thank you so much for this comment! The black screen is a color inversion setting to save my eyes later at night haha. I'm so glad you enjoyed!
