as summer befalls a moonless night
if only to the depths of my heart
i hold my breath and draw you near
you are as silent as the sky is still
why must i read between the lines
and sleep not be my guest tonight
again and again the tide to and fro
does my heart beat in vain
for a tomorrow that may never come
