TODAY'S RAIN

Sunshine is not hiding in today’s rain but hanging yellow ribbon slices that while anemic,
are proud and scenic. The day is as damp as newly washed laundry and the air holds a
familiar crisp scent, similar to linens dried in spring air. Outside, raindrops on windows
repeatedly grab my pointed, offered fingertip before zipping away. Inside, splatter on my
tin roof alters between rhythmic lullabies and insistent drums. Both sounds gift my home
a secure tone

I love the simile -- 'The day is as damp as washed laundry.' ... As for the real weather lately, I find myself adding some 'Winter Softener.' Very harsh in Chicago... ~ gw

I can hear the splatter of the raindrops and I can smell the fresh rain as I read this Prose. I like your use of metaphor with "just washed laundry", too.

I am wrong. For some reason, I thought she said to call it verse. I went and changed my own from verse to fred verse. You used several unique images. I loved raindrops grabbing your pointed fingers!

This is really really cool, Caycay. Fantastic imagery. I need to double check if she wanted us to call this verse or not. For me it should be a winner.

I don't mind a bit of rain in moderation but take shelter when it's pouring, thankfully now retired I have a choice whetheror not to venture out. Tom
