To Weave And Thread

Oh inspiration, leave me not On wings departed for the sun For you and I are were such good friends When we were standing, still as one If not for you, the turquoise skies Would hover just a simple blue And flowers would of course, still be Yet not of such a fragrant hue The faded lines of tedium Become brand-new when you’re around But oh, the doldrums dominate When you no longer can be found Oh inspiration, be my muse Awaken you old sleepy head With crayon candied thoughts to flow And winsome words to weave and thread

What a plaintive call to your muse, Mike! To stand together. To be aware of the gift of your muse. These lines are so heartfelt. I enjoyed this very much. Blessings of inspirations to you!

This is just so lovely, Mike. Sometimes I think that almost every poem you post could easily be POTD. This is a fine example. Happy weekend, Gershon

a magnificent write, Mike--almost like an 'ode' to inspiration. I loved how you captured the relationship between inspiration and a poet (any artist) . I liked these lines: the doldrums dominate When you no longer can be found. The last line was perfect. Faving. have a pleasant evening, Sara

I'm afraid I'm reduced to writing poop and risque humour these days lol. To be brutally honest Mike I got fed up of reading snide remarks about people writing poop so I'm not posting on soup but working on my next book, hugs Jan xx

The imagery you evoke is amazing and enchanting, drawing me, the reader into a world where inspiration breathes life into the ordinary. This is a piece of artistry at its best. - Blessings, Daniel
