To Spread Ones Wings and Fly

Sometimes I've stopped and wondered As I write from day to day To spread ones wings and fly And let the anew have their say There are so many horizons In the distance of our lives To spread ones wings and fly Where new writing newly strives Audiences abound our globe Where fresh learning's can be found To spread ones wings and fly Maybe there's a common ground Topics to capture young thoughts Like fantasy and the dark To spread ones wings and fly It would be churlish not to be a part To write and grow with tomorrows kind Is to enjoy the enriching road To spread ones wings and fly And settle into a new abode Writers and poets so Are to be read, and to aim for print To spread ones wings and fly And capture the readers glint Sometimes I've stopped and wondered More so, very recently To spread ones wings and fly And to find where ones writings to be http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/writing.php

Wonder no more as you fly, you have found that place where the reader is at rest with you.

I share your views on how writing gives us the wings to fly, James! So true...staying within the confines of your thoughts, keeping them to yourself does not broaden one's life. We should all express ourselves and take on those wings and fly! A definite fav. today! Always, Audrey

You know how my journey started with poetry James and sometimes I still don't believe when people say I am good at it, but the amazing thing is, we touch lives sometimes without knowing. That is what gives it the wings to fly. I loved this write of yours ;) a favourite of mine! Hope your week is going good ~ Wilma

James, May I share with you what I feel? If my written work has touched you no matter good, or bad or even nothing thought at all. I have done what was intended as a poet. As life changes, so does poetry as the people change around it. I so much enjoy your work, thoughts and your feelings. As Always, Shar

The best aspect of Poetry Soup is the ability to share thoughts with poets from so many nations, James. It is the encouragement and support we give and take that allows all of us to spread our wings and soar. Very nicely penned, my friend. Surely there are many here who will relate to this message. Love, Carolyn
