To Sleep, To Dream
The night whispers, soft and still.
Clouds cover the stars and moon.
Faint light through windows spill.
All will be covered in darkness soon.
When light fades into the dusk of twilight,
purple shadows begin to appear.
Shapeless figures come into sight,
silently creeping near.
The hours until dawn's first light.
A time to sleep, to dream.
In restful slumber through the night,
then awaken to sunshines's gleam.
Dreams, to drift in languid peace,
so a weary spirit may rest.
Ties that bind quickly release,
to the power of a soulful request.
