To Say Goodbye

Cold wind rushed in through the windows, As you sat on the sofa, Looking at me, watching me, As I cooked and danced around. We smiled at our illusion, An image we thought we could sustain. But time bled with our differences, Turning us both bitter. Yet do you remember, Please always remember, The moments when our embrace Was enough. The days in cafes, The nights at home with wine And kisses in bed. Think only of that, darling. You are a part of me, Which has been chiseled away By my sadness and longing, But my memory of you will always remain.
