To My Parents

To My Parents: I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm not the daughter you wanted. I don't get straight a's, but i try my best. I don't clean my room, in my only time to rest. I don't love who I should but I have a big heart. I do every thing I can, so i wont disappoint you, but when I saw you only see the worst, it was right then that I knew. Even if I got straight A's, it wouldn't make you proud. Even if I cleaned my room, You'd still lose me in a crowd. And even if I loved a boy, It still wouldn't be allowed. I guess you'll never be happy, with what your little girl is, i wish you see me for who i was, I wish it wasn't like this.

I can relate BIG time Alexis, I was always second best no matter what I did in life, the first time I recall my mum saying she was proud of me was when i stood on stage in 2017 and recited 3 of my poems in front of an audience of 600. Since then she often said she was proud of me with my poetry. All I can say Alexis is be proud of who you are and what you achieve in life and dont let the negative vibes spoil you. Hugs Jan xx
