To My Garden Rose -

It wasn't that long, when I saw you as bud,
Your soft velvet petals brought me delight,
My garden brightened with your colour red,
Oh! Rose now summer will be out of sight,
Sun will get dull, no longer shine so bright,

Your cupped petals have started to turn dry,
I can feel your sadness and hear you cry,
Like the old man's shoulders, shy stem droops low,
No longer can you stand up, look at sky,
Rose! Before you go, to you kiss I owe.
