To Lose the Muse

I lose my muse When I peruse A thousand things to do, Oh Muse, I rue The need to choose Between my work And you! I lose your flow, Where did you go? I stand to man my station. I wonder in amuse-ment If you took a long vacation?

Oh, Beryl, I need to escape the confines of this harried pace and just rest in the presence of beauty and wait for the muse to come back! It has been months of nonstop busy, and then some. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond.

Aw, maybe your right, scrawl or rant, hm, guess that would be better than the blank wall. I have been gone too long between life throwing way more than we ever imagined at us, and having eye problems set in quite quickly. Oh, lol, that is a funny thought! Where do muses take their vacations, probably in Greece :) Anyways, mine flew off Gin! I hope you've been well Paula, I;m sorry to reply so very crazy late. I've been MIA quite too long myself. Lifes nuts sometimes, and I can't blame my muse for taking a nice long breal from all the fray. I will try to be back soon to keep catching up on my comments. Yes, a vacation, a real honest to goodness vacation sounds like a perfect dream :) Unfortunately, this long break from PS was never intended, and life has been spinning us into all matter of off the chart anything but vacay. My muse however, I do hope she's basking in the Bahamas, sipping sweet coconut milk and having a wonderful time. It would be nice if she'd send me a quick note again soon ;) I 'm really sorry to reply so late, thank you for your visit and comment <3

Hi Bill, your comment is so appreciated, and I am sorry to reply so late. Your muse may give you trouble on a weekly schedule, but mine doesn't hang around much these days!! We have had an especially hectic season. and my eye problems to top it all off :/ My husband and I need to find a sweet little new hometown like you and your sweet Sara, that would be so nice. Maybe my muse would decide to come back and stay :)

We all feel a bit lost without our muse.. I liked how your poem expresses the struggle of balancing the demands of everyday life with the desire for creative expression. Hello Heidi, I wish to visit your poems again soon. I hope you have been well, I've been so long absent from this refreshing site. Life, you know how it goes sometimes. It's odd that the terrrible derailment in your area had affected your health, we had a toxic truck accident that shut the area near us down about a year and a half or so ago, and guess what??? Sometimes we feel that we have lost our muse. When work and domestic obligations take priority, we sideline poetry and I think our muse dislikes it so much that when we call her, she keeps herself away. She likes to be given the prime place in our life. Legros, dear friend, so happy to see you back....

Yes, and losing ourselves in the whirlwind of life does not help matters at all. I am sorry Valsa, I have not even responded on my comments in months, let alone written almost anything in months! Life feels like the effects of a whirlwind, on quite the grand scheme and only picking up strength. I am going to try to get to my comments, and thank you and all the others who have so supported me in my poems. I think my muse sort of peeked in and thought she'd stay a moment, but realized I'm too busy to even notice her. I know you are a friend in faith, please pray for my family. I know what you mean Victor, such obvious mischievousness in the amusement of a muse! I do have that happen too. Probably because we are so busy with life that we don't rest long enough to hear their prompting. I did use to sleep with a notebook and pen nearby and pen things in the dark, that is a good idea to do that again! Thank you for visiting and commenting dear friend. I hope you are well. I'm sorry I am not on here very often anymore, Hopefully I will be soon, at least to read what others are writing, it is always such a peaceful joy to read yours and others poems on here.

Mike, thank you :) I guess she's resting, hopefully not fled forever. I so hope you're right. I'm waiting for that day I wake up recharged, pen in hand with words flying of the point. Our home has been going through a lot of revamp, and the holidays had us hopping prior to that. I feel like she is gone forever, I guess she won't pardon the mess of a construction site. But the home is getting done, and will be prettier than ever, and maybe that will coax her back, we'll see! I hope you are well my friend. Thank you Gershon, I appreciate your encouraging and always upbeat comments my friend :) Remember two years ago, my 'A Musing Plumber' poem? Well, we are still recoiling from all that, and still getting the home back in order. That Muse of a plumber disappeared as Muses so often do when you don't jump at their bid. We hadn't, and then when we decided we would choose the Muse, he never called back, and the plumbers after him? Wow, they did more than just use a jack hammer. Our home was cut up, re-piped, and then needed repainted. Now the carpet is finally being redone. My Muse doesn't like competing. She has flown the coop! She did drop by for a brief visit, but fleeted on her way again :(
