To Be Uncool
A child – once solitary -
lived inside herself and always dreamed.
She wished for popularity.
This would be happiness – at least for her it seemed.
Popularity never came,
but in her thirteenth year,
she noticed others like herself -
girls seeking more. Like her, they were sincere.
She sought them out – those other girls
unwanted by the cliques at school.
She and they were interesting.
Fun were they! It mattered not to be “uncool!”
United, they made room for other girls.
Enjoying each other, a common motto was their creed:
“One for all and all for one,”
Interconnectedness was true friendship indeed.
