To a Silver Sea At Sunset

Somewhere beyond your misty horizon where clouds bow low to receive the sun's benediction of brilliant amethyst and gold-rimmed glory, and where wind shapes the sharps and flats of an endless siren song~ does the one I love still sail home to me? Somewhere beyond time counted and gone, as your waves come and go and come again to the place on shore where parting once was sweet, where now I wait as one half-alive and existing in the shadow of a solitary memory~ will the minutes never bring him home to me?

This is absolutely beautiful! The words becoming colours and painting the canvas is haunting, especially when the siren song is added in. I am there, I see the amethyst and gold-rimmed glory, I am waiting for his return with you. I think you are my new favorite poet, Chetta!

I absolutely love the flow of your wordplay and imagery here. Especially amethyst line as well as shapes the sharps and flats, clever diction! Along with the evocative question too. Pleasure reading this. Congratulations on your win

I’ve seen half-alive in my dad this year. He has reached, if it can be called that , the acceptance stage though I know grief comes in waves. Such a lovely poem, Chetta! My favorite part: and where wind shapes the sharps and flats of an endless siren song~

I love the imagery of, "where clouds bow low to receive the sun's benediction". True love can actually last a lifetime, but one should still be whole with the memories while it awaits new memories. ~ Ed
