Time Ticks On

Time Ticks On

As a child I dreamed
and played and frolicked
I knew nothing of time
and time knew nothing of me
and as I grew my dreams became real
little by little,
one by one,
and time ticked on
As a young adult I worked
and played and loved
I was introduced to dead lines
and I knew time well
but my dreams grew,
little by little
one by one,
and time ticked on
As a young woman I yearned
and prayed and cried
please, let me have a family of my own
but the dream slipped away
time passed too quickly
my dreams were fading
little by little,
one by one,
and time ticked on
As an old woman I sit and rock
and tell stories and listen
to the blossoming dreams of youth
my time is passing
my dreams have gone
little by little
one by one,
my time ticks on.

Time is a gift to savor each moment. We bask in the sunshine but we grow with the rain. Everything has a purpose. Vince

Is it that time changes and we with it, or we change and time with us ... it was a pleasure growing up with you a while, oneness and love

Trudy, this is so beautifully wriiten, though it is so sad. Time does pass by quickly and it seems to move faster as we get older. Too bad we can't pause or rewind a little. Keep dreaming and keep writing your wonderful poetry! Love, Robin

Always always dream, time is a construct of man not higher power, dreams have no time find a new dream and move forward. Thank you for your kind comment on my blog. See if you like my Dawn Flower poem. Light & Love Debbie

So does all of our lives and goals, the best thing is no matter how we let time pass, as long as we are breathing we always have the chance to become great. enjoyed reading this and have a blessed day.

Yes, it does tick on and ever so quickly. We can only do what we can, and try our best to meet our personal goals in life. Oh, and by the way, even if you really were old (which you are not) you must surely still have dreams to pursue, though they may be different, for without them, life is simply not as wonderful as it could be. I say dream on! Love, Shar
