Notes About The Poem

Author's Notes: This is a "Tanka" or Japanese verse form write on the subject: "Time Flies." In this instance, I've used a "running meter" and "measurement" as the abstract images for this write. And the write, as a whole, captures the integral aspect of "Time" as an important part of our lives. The syllable count for this Tanka is: 5-7-5-7-7 (for a total of 31 syllables). Time Flies

Time’s flies in this world . . .
It’s part of our very lives.
A running meter . . . 
	Tracks to when, how long, how much 
And measures what can be done!

Gary my dear friend very nice to see you writing tanks for a change. Time just flies and will never capture it again, like sand upon our hands blown into the wind...no compassion for us mere mortals! Very nice poem! A 7 for you! :) love and hugs! xxxx D.

"D" My Dear . . . Thanks for the "7" here and for dropping by. I will be by to check out your latest works soon. I've been so busy too on my end. I am doing now at least one and sometimes two co-writes per week with Liam McDaid, and have been in a strong production mode as of late. Time may fly by, but we must think younger!! (HA HA) Best!! Hello Andrea!! Yup -- I think you found the exact point on this. I know it seems like it's moving faster for sure on my end. I'll have some more of these writes in the future as I'm branching out to try some of the short (but quite interesting) poetic formats. I will stay in touch with you and your poems too!!
