Time
When the world turns with all its weight, the moon
pulls. It heaves the seas and the darkening shore,
drags the last wave to a distant horizon.
Surely, the heart comes back from the hidden door.
When the bright constellations appear
and the night’s fiery lamps guide forgotten ways,
the ceaseless oceans whisper, steadily steer.
Certainly, the heart remembers long lost days:
When time erodes the cliffs and distant places
decay, crumble and fall; but nothing stays
and empty streets resound with joyous faces,
lovers laughing in sweet cherry tree days.
As time turns upon its axis on its ceaseless round,
The deep core and still heart will always be found.
