Time
Rose petals on a bed of dew
Teardrops down a satin cheek
Fingertips caressing a lonely frame -
A window to another time.
Emptiness slowly dissipating
Fulfillment quickly recreating -
Souls join in ecstatic laughter
Sharing, daring to be true
to what lies hidden beneath
a lid of suppression and yearning.
Catching sight of what used to be
Holding on to what is now -
praying for that still to come.
Time passes, plays, punishes...
Rain scratching a glass pane
Dandelions blowing in a breeze
Feet walking shoeless along a cobbled path -
An avenue to another world.
Joy seeps through
Melancholy, Deja vu
Spirits carousing
Moving in rhythmic poetry -
waltzing to times of past regrets
and future triumphs.
Running across fields of thorn
Tearing apart what was -
building up what can be,
holding on to what is.
Time cleanses, castigates, creates...
Lilies on a fresh grave
Eyes searching the far horizons
Hands gripping a suitcase -
a passport to another life.
