Time

Caught in the clutches of time
a place that I long to flee
trapped though committed no crime
people pulling with no real thoughts for me.

Outside my window I see the world go by
fear of losing the race though still I endeavour to try
confined in my mind; surrounded like a cage
I have to find the strength; the ability to turn the page.

I love the simple things you find in each passing day
new people you meet you affect you in some strange unknown way
the sun glancing through a canopy of golden leaves
memories that float happily along the breeze.

Although I still feel lonely
I do know people care
but I need someone to guide and show me
to help me open up and share.
