Time

Spirits of love speak from the grave.
Visiting me In small voices,
they whisper to my eternal
soul as the ticking clock within
counts out each predetermined beat
of my heart, each finite moment
in an infinite universe.
One second in the face of time
slips by, carrying all the love
of my yesteryears into present
hours like a heavenly embrace
of warm, loving enlightenment.
Our days are fleeting but love remains.
Now, it is a quarter past ten,
and someone takes their final breath
as a newborn babe cries its first.
With every breath, we share our love,
passing through the light and shadows.
Life becomes an endless circle.
If we listen, we will hear love
and wisdom whispered through the ages.

This is so soothing Rhonda. Your magical muse would have surely soared in the contest. This is a fave for me. Can't really keep up with the frequency of contests these days as they get filled up soon. I just missed SO's The One That Got Away contest :) But your muse will always be your legacy! Blessings and love :)

Well written Rhonda, you used the eight words well, a shame you missed the deadline, keep an eye on the contests though, I've seen the contests reappear because someone had dropped out. Hope you're well Tom

Thanks, Tom. I'll keep an eye on it. When I started writing the poem, two entries remained and an hour later it was full. I knew I was taking a chance :) Rhonda xx
