Time

Time

Do you know the rules of time?
Well, it will take a while
Please wait for me to start
11:59 separates day from night
Midnight is morning with
A gray moon in the black sky
And afternoon start at 12:01 pm

Every second counts
All 60 of them especially when you say
“I’ll just be a minute”
And all 1440 of them in the 24 hour day

Especially on your alarm
That goes off just in time for you to wake up on time
To make breakfast
Shower or bathe
And to get dressed
Take your phone
Your keys
Your wallet
And your extra coffee
To start the day

If you’re late
You can’t do anything about it
Don’t let it get to your head
You’ll look like a fool
Especially on a stormy day

Every early bird has woken up late
I know you’re not a bird
You get the idea
Or do you?

Will you lend me some time
to explain it
Because we will have to
leave mathematics and go to English
Okay then
A nod of your head
Is not convincing
Okay next time
So long
Tootles
