Where have the years gone: like soft feathers they float in the breeze of life; fragile, wispy thoughts to gather in, one by one and stroke with loving care, smoothing edges ruffled in their years of flight. Feathers of our memory- they fly faster as we age; time has learned a new step spinning us around. Feathers held just yesterday- grasped from us so fast before we comprehend their colors and designs. Relish each moment lest the thief of time deems feathers fly no more. Caress the silky texture; smooth the separated vanes to flawless beauty before they are whisked away- from memories- or soul.

Thank you, Sara. Yes, I posted these thoughts using the Choka form back in 2016. I sometimes like to rewrite my thoughts about the same idea or emotion using a different poetry form. Hugs, Sandra
