Tick Tock

Bright and clear, full of promise,
But those in between years
Learned lessons of passing thought

Visions of pain and struggle
Hand holding and soft tears
Hugs and cheers to fill the years

Shifting to less labored toil,
Blessed senses gives charm a chance
To dance of tables, drinking ouzo by the glass
With licorice breath and kisses for all

We celebrate the night and cry till dawn
Until the tavern closes, our celebration over
Time becomes more valuable
Because there’s less of it to spend
