Notes About The Poem

Alliteration Nursery Rhyme Poetry Contest

Tick and Tock

Tick tock, tick tock,
The cat climbed on the clock.
A rat ran out rapidly in the rain.
Sought shelter under a sturdy shrub.
The cheeky cat checked all crops,
The rat snuggled into its reservoir.

A duck chased the cat,
Then it dipped into the pond,
Enjoyed a quiet quaff in the quaint rain,
As the water sounded on its surface,
And as it Ticked, it Tock,
And the duck dug deep happily.

Victor a wonderful entry with this nursery Rhyme of yours. It reminded me of my experiences with ducks. They are very protective of their ducklings and like any mother, challenge anyone that gets near her babies. Thank you for sharing my friend...

Animals in nursery rhymes relate to children's whimsy. I like how the scenes connect.

Dearest Victor there is a lot of imagery to your nursery rhyme poem. I have to say I had a good laugh at the duck chasing the cat, brings back memories of a neighbours duck. It used to chase us kids and peck really hard. Great poem for the contest, all the best for a win...Hugs
