Thunderstorm At Daybreak
thunderbolts
blinding, deafening,
ripped through
hovering dark clouds,
burst the ominous
thunderhead;
for a seemingly endless
stretch of time,
only the howling wind
can be heard
in the universe
it seemed;
but then the wind
suddenly stilled,
intense, desolate silence
reigned,
overwhelming,
quietly momentous;
now visibly spent,
the clouds trundle
timidly
about the silver
skyline and so slowly
swirl away,
as the moist canopies
and grasslands
glisten,
tinted with the gladdening glow
of yet another soothing
sunrise.
